After serving in the Marine Corps stationed at MCAS Cherry Point, I decided to pursue a career in woodworking following in the footsteps of my family. From the onset I learned the basics with rough framing, in short order the supervisor proposed a better fit might be the trim crew. My talents grew as a shipwright crafting exotic woods such as teak, mahogany and sapele into unique moldings for sailboats and sport fishing yachts for Jarett Bay Boatworks. As I became more confident with my talents I took the leap and started Plane and Chisel finish carpentry in 2013. From the beginning I installed kitchens, stock trim work and custom built-ins for larger contractors . This eclectic background gives me an edge on older and newer homes alike because I am not limited to the parameters of a square, level or plumb home.
Respecting the clients home I consistently leave it cleaner than I found it, attempt to not disrupt the natural flow of the household and focus on the customers ambitions of how they envision the final result of the project.
